Amazing! Grete Eliassen - Professional Skier, Pro Female Skier

“I've always thought of myself as one of the guys. I think guys have an advantage because they get to watch each other try new tricks. When a girl does a new trick, she's usually never been able to see another girl do it.”

What We Did for Grete

Grete Eliassen's came to us in working order, but just a tad on the plain side. We worked with Grete to pick out the layout, color scheme, etc of her choice (light blue, twitter integration). Grete's posts, images, links, pages, etc were moved over to the new blog from her old blog. The new design is just a clean, reenergized version of her existing blog. The new site incoporates her love for twitter and you will be able to keep up with her new blog posts and tweets at the same time.

What we're doing with Grete

After working on her site with her, Grete fast became one of our favorite athletes. WebItDesigns approached Grete with the concept of a video-centric, backstage pass, all access type of site that would follow her and a few of her female skier friends around throughout the year. She was instantly into it... and ColdAsIce.TV was born. She quickly got fellow pro skiers Keri Herman and Meg Olenick in on the action. Once the team was formed, WebItDesigns began shopping the idea around for sponsors... and landed the greatest sponsor we could've asked for... GOPRO HD Cameras. ColdAsIce.TV Launched 12/19/2010 and is crankin' out videos of the Cold As Ice Crew all the time. Check ColdAsIce.TV for recent videos of the girls in action.

Bio Information

A little about Grete: These days, Grete calls Salt Lake City home and spends as much time hitting pow in the Cottonwood Canyons as she does hitting books for her classes at the University of Utah. This winter she’s not only focusing on competitions, but also killing some backcountry lines: something she’s equally adept at.

Grete is one of the best all-around skiers at WX and has excelled in multiple skiing disciplines. She has Winter X Skiing SuperPipe gold (2005, 2006) and silver (2007) as well as Slopestyle silver (2009). Her racing background gives her a smooth style on the slopestyle course and helps her carry speed in the pipe. While she has spent less time in the park the last few years because she is concentrating on making her own movie, "Say My Name," she has really pushed the women's backcountry jib movement. Look for Eliassen to take the same tricks she throws off cliffs in the backcountry and throw them in both SuperPipe and Slopestyle.
